This is a single organ study only.
In general, complete abdominal scans are recommended to ensure pathology is not missed. However, there may be instances in which a partial scan is appropriate for the patient. |
Fine needle aspirate/biopsy or fluid sampling may be indicated for certain patients to help confirm a diagnosis.
These procedures may be performed as part of the ultrasound procedure. If you suspect that sampling may be required, please advise at the time of booking. In order to sample safely, patient sedation and other diagnostic tests (ex: CBC, coagulation profile) may be required. |
